Home for the Holidays

With the season over, Adam and I traveled back to RVA for a little R&R (because I haven't been doing that enough already!). The Cristman's joined the Brennan's for a Thanksgiving feast and then Adam and I finally opened all of our wedding presents! How exciting! It's obviously not "normal" to open your wedding presents months after your wedding, but we left Richmond right after the wedding and never had the opportunity. I almost like it better this way -- it made our wedding seem to last a lot longer. A few days later, to keep with Brennan tradition, we posed for our annual Christmas picture. I was excited to have Adam included this year :) And then, not long after that, I was able to go to the Coleman's Christmas party with all my Highrise girls! Yay for the holidays (and parties)!

Back in DC

Well, the Revs made it all the way to the final but it just wasn't their game to win this time. The team was awesome enough to fly a few of the family members out and set us up with a hotel in DC. My family and almost all of my best girlfriends made it out to the game. It was a disappointing result, but fun to see friends all the same. Here's Melissa and her boyfriend Juan, Adam and me:

I might as well be in Alaska 'cause...

it's sooo cold here! I honestly don't know how these boys are playing in this weather. Just shows what a wimp I am!

Halloween

I wish I had taken more pictures of our Halloween adventure at the Leonard's. We had a great time playing a few games, handing out some candy, and cracking up over everyone's costumes. Anyone know what my husband (I like the way that sounds!) was?

JMU Homecoming / Highrise Reunion

I was lucky enough to fly back to Richmond near the end of October to attend my first JMU homecoming as an alumni. And, even better, I was able to reunite with my Highrise girls at Erin and Holly's apartment. Fall in Harrisonburg was one of my favorite experiences at JMU and it was so nice to be back for what I think of as true fall weather (it's FREEZING in Mass. already). Can't get enough of my girls either!

Lazy Days

When I moved up to MA, Adam encouraged me NOT to get a job so that I could breathe easy for a few months and then we could go home to Richmond together (and hopefully on our honeymoon) for the off-season. Boy oh boy am I breathing easy. I spend most days by the Love's pool, taking walks, chatting over coffee with Sue, and laughing my head off during dinner. Lucky girl :)

DC game

I was lucky enough to go home one week after my wedding to watch Adam's game against DC and visit with my family and girlfriends. I know I was home all summer with them, but it was refreshing to see them post-wedding and job stress. And, we had a great cookout at Sara's house to boot! I'm wearing the present Adam gave me the day before our wedding:

Life in Bawston

Most of you know that Adam plays soccer for the New England Revolution. Part of the deal with being a rookie is that you don't make a ton of money and the folks in New England are nice enough to host a few of those rookies in their homes. Adam was invited into the house of the Love's. Adam has raved and raved about this family since he moved in last Spring and now I have the privilege of living with them too! I wasn't especially enthusiastic about moving away from home, so it has been incredible to be welcomed in by such a loving family. Below is a snapshot of the Love's with us at our wedding:

Mini-Moon

Because Adam and I tied the knot during soccer season, we couldn't really take a full honeymoon...but, we were able to sneak away to the lovely town of Providence, Rhode Island for a few days. We're hoping to take a longer honeymoon sometime in January. Cross your fingers! Adam had to go to practice everyday we stayed there, so I was able to sleep-in and relax (though I wasn't happy he had to leave me as evidenced by my expression below!). We had heard that Providence featured some amazing restaurants and we definitely took full advantage of that while we were there.

We're married!!!

September 1, 2007! It's hard to believe that after almost six years of dating, most of which spent apart, we finally get to see each other everyday! Our wedding was super fun thanks to everyone who came to support us. We can't thank you enough. Here are a few of our favorite pictures (taken by Mr. Aaron Watson). Enjoy!
